Our own principle since 1923
AKIM has consistently refined eccentric technology for over a hundred years: power transmission through rolling contact instead of gear teeth. This gave rise to gearbox families found nowhere else — from the ACBAR to cycloidal and servo gearboxes to centrifuge and slewing drives.
Manufactory, not mass production
We take on the tasks others decline: extreme ratios, brutal loads, minimal space, no maintenance possible. Engineering from feasibility study to series production — every gearbox at AKIM has a responsible engineer.
Swiss production, honest statements
Developed and built in Altendorf, Switzerland, certified to ISO 9001:2015. More than 12,000 applications worldwide rely on AKIM — in environmental technology, on ships, in defence systems and across industry.
